Hey there beautiful souls,
I thought this might be an interesting post for discussion. I have taken supplements on and off for the past 6 years or so and I have to admit I have never been able to tell if they make a difference; anyone else feel like that? Anyway there are a couple of supplements I have heard very good things about and am currently taking so I thought I’d share and I’d love to know if any of you also take any of these supplements or any others you find really make a difference?
The first supplements I’m going to mention are the Raspberry Ketones and Aloe Vera Colon Cleanse. I have been taking these on and off over various ‘dieting’ periods in the last few years as the combination is supposed to aid weightloss. The woman in Holland and Barrett told me she had received lots of positive feedback from customers taking both, the Raspberry Ketones in the mornings and the Aloe Vera Colon Cleanse in the evenings. Now I can’t really say if these definitely work or not I’m afraid, but when I stuck to a low sugar diet and took these regularly I did manage to loose 9lbs in 12 days. Now whether I received these results purely because of the sugar free diet or whether these supplements really did help too, is hard to prove. However as I still have some left I decided to take them again until empty in the hope that they do really help. I will however most likely not repurchase them afterwards.
Whilst at uni I seemed to get tonsillitis/ a bad throat infection a couple of times a year and was always put on penicillin. Going on antibiotics is never great because although it kills the infection it also damages the good bacteria. My mum recommended I start taking Acidophilus, a microorganism that helps maintain an acidic environment in the gut which can prevent the growth of harmful bacteria. Now these aren’t the cheapest and thus I haven’t been taking these regularly however as having a healthy gut is important I have currently started taking these again. If it becomes to expensive to take one a day I might start to just take one very second day.
Now it may not come as a surprise to a lot of you that another supplement I take is Vitamin B12. Now that I have adopted a vegan diet it was time for me to begin taking this supplement as this is supposed to be one of thing a vegan diet can’t give you enough of. I don’t feel any different for taking this supplement, but from all I have read and heard it’s beneficial.
The last supplement I am currently taking is vitamin is Vitamin D or otherwise known as the sunlight vitamin. At this time of year I barely get any sunlight and I’m not the only one, most people in the UK have a vitamin D deficiency apparently. It’s also supposed to help with tiredness, something I feel I suffer from 24/7!
